Hi, I'm Zach!

To address the elephant in the room, I don't work at a zoo or wildlife institution. But my spouse does. My background is in engineering and product development and I'm extremely lucky to have the opportunity to utilize my skills to help professionals in the veterinary field.

I have been designing in 3D CAD software since 2011. My go-to software is Solidworks. I got my first 3D printer in 2016, and added a second printer to my "fleet" in 2023.

I utilize my design and prototyping skills to create adapters, tools, and educational materials for the zoo and wildlife field. Where appropriate, I make the parts out of 3D printed plastic (PETG). Other situations may require different materials, such as cloth, rubber, metal, etc., which I can either create myself or outsource to my global network of suppliers.
